When Athena and Poseidon Built a City"

 Olga Armagou, Lianokladi Kindergarten, Greece

Poseidon's city

Poseidon’s Water Lab & Lens''

Olga Armagou- Lianokladi Kindergarten- Greece

We narrate to our students the following story
There was once a donkey who had a harsh boss. One day he loaded it with 2 very heavy sacks of salt. Due to the weight, it stumbled and fell into the river. It found that its load had become lighter. The next day, its boss loaded it with sponges. When it approached the river, it deliberately fell in. Little did it know what awaited it, it almost drowned from the weight. Then we experimented with other materials that dissolve or not, but also with materials that absorb or not, and the children recorded their observations on individual worksheets.
And then we make our experiments

After that we did a Magic picture! Little students drew with the colours they love a picture. Then we put the picture in a zip bag and draw the on the black line of the picture  with a permanent marker. When the students sank their picture in the water the colours were disappearing- Water refraction experiment.

What gift do we want for our city today

The children decided that the best gift for our town, Ierapetra, is trees and flowers, because due to the rare rainfall we don't have much greenery in our town. They would also like a rainbow, painted, to fill us with color and joy!
